Captain's mate and comedienne Lynn Ferguson uncovers the hidden history of women and piracy. Piracy reached its zenith in the early 18th Century, when hordes of ships trawled the Caribbean and Atlantic seas for booty. Among them were cross-dressing buccaneers Ann Bonny and Mary Read, as well as the pirate queen of the South China Seas Madam Jung E Sow, who ruled a fleet of over 600 junks and thousands of men.
