Raise the Kursk

Mark Stephen talks to some of the men and women who played key roles in raising the Kursk, a Russian nuclear powered submarine, in a most remarkable international salvage operation.

The story of how Scots-based divers, Dutch and German engineers and the might of the Russian Navy got together to try raise the 18,000 ton Kursk. The Russian nuclear powered submarine had suffered a catastrophic explosion in the Barents Sea, and gone down with the loss of all 118 of her crew. Mark Stephen talks to some of the men and women who played key roles in the most remarkable international salvage operation of all time.
