Opera at the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Proms

Opera fans can enjoy the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Proms on Radio 3, ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Four, ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Two, ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ HD and on ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ iPlayer.

Bryn Terfel performs the role of Hans Sachs in Wagner's The Mastersingers Of Nuremberg with the Orchestra and Chorus of Welsh National Opera on Saturday 17 July (³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Four at 7pm and live at 4pm on ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Radio 3).

The following day, Sunday 18 July, Plácido Domingo performs the title role in Verdi's Simon Boccanegra (live at 6pm on ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Radio 3).

Sir Simon Rattle conducts the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment in Act 2 of Tristan And Isolde on 1 August (live at 6.30pm on ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Radio 3).

Robin Ticciati makes his debut at the Proms with Humperdinck's Hänsel And Gretel on 31 August in the production from this year's Glyndebourne Festival starring Alice Coote and Lydia Teuscher as the siblings lost in the wood (live at 7pm on ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Radio 3).

The Last Night of the Proms on 11 September will unite the nation by encouraging audiences across the UK to join the largest-ever operatic chorus.

Dame Kiri Te Kanawa will be performing with the winner of the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Radio 2 Kiri Prize at ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Proms in the Park in Hyde Park, while soprano Renée Fleming leads festivities in the Royal Albert Hall.

The Last Night of the Proms is broadcast live on ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Radio 3, ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Two (first half) and ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Four (second half). ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Proms in the Park from Hyde Park is live at 7.30pm on Radio 2.
