The atmospheric Late Night Proms present a rich seam of music and artists that might not otherwise be heard at the Proms.

There are Proms debuts for Jamie Cullum (26 August, broadcast on ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Four the following evening), the Penguin Cafe (8 September) and pioneering Iraqi guitarist and singer Ilham Al Madfai in the first-ever ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Radio 3 World Routes Academy concert (9 August).

Maria João Pires opens the series with a solo Chopin recital (21 July), and there are chances to hear an evening of English and American experimental music from the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Scottish Symphony Orchestra with Ilan Volkov and pianist John Tilbury (20 August); Stravinsky from the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Singers and London Sinfonietta (4 August); and arias and duets by Vivaldi and his contemporaries with Ensemble Matheus and Jean-Christophe Spinosi (6 September).

George Benjamin celebrates his 50th-birthday year with the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group (6 August) and spiritual vocal and choral highlights include Arvo Pärt's St John Passion (17 August) and Pergolesi's Stabat Mater (2 September).
