My Life As An Animal

Where Our Food Comes From

When it comes to food, the UK public is spoilt for choice. Walk down almost any high street and you will see shops selling food imported from all over the world, most of which can be bought for less than a fiver.

But if people knew the truth about the pay and working conditions that the workers who supply our tasty treats have to endure, would they be so keen to tuck in or would it leave a sour taste in their mouths?

In this series, a group of young consumers will swap their takeaways, restaurants and supermarkets for the farms and processing factories of Asia.

Once there, they will have to work, eat and live alongside the people who produce some of our most popular dishes to find out at first hand just how some of the nation's favourite foods are produced.

A Ricochet Production.

My Life As An Animal

Eight intrepid volunteers take part in an innovative and bold experiment to try to learn more about animals.

In this new series, the volunteers go back to basics undertaking a unique journey of self discovery, eating, sleeping and endeavouring to communicate with horses, dogs, pigs, penguins and seals.

The experiment also helps the participants learn something about their own lives as well as those of the animals.

Akin to modern day "Dr Dolittles", the volunteers will closely observe the animals, using this to carefully inform their own behaviour.

Among other animal activities they will try to gain a place within the strict hierarchy of thoroughbred stallions, win the trust of a pack of foxhounds and learn more about pigs and their piglets.

Wildlife expert Terry Nutkins offers invaluable advice, giving hints and tips on how the human guinea pigs can come closer to being accepted as animals by animals.

Natalie Cassidy's Bold Britain (Title TBC)

Inspired by subjects close to her own heart, Natalie Cassidy presents a series of uplifting films about young Britons, from love and body image to fame and family.

Otto wants to be a man and, in his eyes, that means finding a girlfriend – not easy when you're a 21-year-old with Down's Syndrome.

YouTube phenomenon Lauren is on the brink of stardom with her online make-up classes; but does this shy 26-year-old single mum really want the fame that goes with it?

These are extraordinary stories told by young Brits who are doing things their own way.

Sometimes funny, sometimes provocative, the films follow Natalie's journey with the subjects, challenging viewers to question their preconceptions and re-examine what's important in their own lives.

Young Mums' Mansion – Arrival Of The Dads

Following the success of last year's critically acclaimed hit series Young Mums' Mansion, the programme returns to ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Three but this time with the mansion open to single fathers as well.

In Young Mums' Mansion – Arrival Of The Dads, five single mums and five single dads will live together with their children for four weeks to see if, by supporting and helping each other, they can turn their lives around.

One in ten single parents are male. Many, like their female counterparts, struggle to make a difference to their lives without support or intervention.

Living side-by-side with the single mums they must decide how to organise their time in the mansion – from how they will enforce discipline to who does housework and other tasks around the home.

Bringing in the boys adds a whole new dimension to the house. Will it cause added tension or can they all learn from each other? And could this provide hope for romance, or even a future with a new partner?

A Love West production.

The Belief Season

³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Three explores some of the intriguing ways in which religion impacts on young people's lives.

18 Pregnant Schoolgirls

When an unusually large number of teenage girls turned up for pregnancy tests at the clinic of a Catholic school in Gloucester, Massachusetts – and were disappointed to find out that they were not pregnant – the school began to suspect something was up.

Within hours, the news of an alleged "pregnancy pact" had travelled around the world, appearing in newspapers, on television news bulletins and on chat shows.

Despite official denials, was there any truth in the rumours?

This ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Three documentary talks to the girls, their families and friends, to tell the human story behind the headlines.

An October Films production.
