³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Children in Need 2008

Introduction

The ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Children in Need Appeal launched in September and culminates with a star-studded ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ One show on Friday 14 November 2008.

Ìý

The aim of the appeal is to raise much needed funds to help disadvantaged children and young people right here in the UK. For every penny donated, a penny will go towards projects helping disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.

Ìý

The fundraising theme is "Do Something Different" and in the weeks leading up to the televised appeal everyone is asked to join Pudsey, get creative and take up the challenge.

Ìý

It does not mean doing anything difficult, expensive or scary, it just means doing something outside of your normal routine to help raise money.

Ìý

For inspiration there are lots of fantastic ideas in the new fundraising pack.

Ìý

Last year, the British public helped Pudsey raise a record-breaking £37million! This money is significantly enhancing the lives of thousands of disadvantaged youngsters across the UK.

Ìý

Despite this amazing total there are still thousands more children in this country living with a disability, neglect, abuse or in abject poverty who need help. In the current circumstances there will be even more families falling into disadvantage and every donation, no matter how small, really does make a huge difference.

Ìý

The ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Children in Need appeal is an opportunity for everyone to pull together at home, at work or at school, and do what they can to support those in need.

Ìý

Every year appeal organisers are both humbled and inspired by the extraordinary lengths supporters go to raise money, and they hope this year is no exception. This is why they are asking for your support again in 2008.

Ìý

Since the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Children in Need Appeal started in 1980, £480million has been raised to make a real and tangible difference to the lives of disadvantaged youngsters.

Ìý

This year, with the help and support of the British public, it is hoped to break the half billion mark!
