Nicholas Lyndhurst plays Jimmy Venables

Ìý

An easygoing, divorced father of two, Jimmy has two months to become the dad he never was. After You've Gone is the story of one grown man's struggle to actually become a grown up and prove himself to his kids, his ex-wife and his ex-mother-in-law.

Ìý

Nicholas Lyndhurst may be much loved for his portrayal of Rodney in six series and eight Christmas specials of the hugely popular Only Fools And Horses, but that's just the tip of an impressive acting career.

Ìý

He also starred in six series of the immensely successful Goodnight Sweetheart, three series of The Two Of Us, three series of The Piglet Files and the mini-series Gulliver's Travels.

Ìý

He's also earned great acclaim for his roles in The Prince And The Pauper, Peter Pan, Going Straight, and the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ adaptation of David Copperfield.

Ìý

In his early career, Nicholas also famously played the role of Adam in Butterflies and his film credits include Endless Nights, Bequest To The Nation, Bullshot, Gunbus and more recently Lassie.

Celia Imrie plays Diana Neal

Jimmy's posh, opinionated ex-mother-in-law, who despite her loathing of the feckless Jimmy, is determined to turn him into the ideal father for the sake of her grandchildren.

Celia Imrie is one of the UK's most prolific and admired actresses with an extensive history of acclaimed work across television, film and theatre.

Ìý

Her recent film work include: Imagine Me And You, Nanny McPhee, Wimbledon, Bridget Jones's Diary and Calendar Girls.

Ìý

Celia's television work spans from her role in ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ comedies Dinner Ladies and Absolutely Fabulous to drama such as ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ's Gormenghast and Love In A Cold Climate.

Celia's recent theatre work included appearing in Acorn Antiques – The Musical in London's West End.

Dani Harmer plays Molly Venables

Ìý

Smart talking Molly sees herself as the only adult in the family, in fact she sees herself as the puppeteer and in her heart she really wishes she didn't have to be.

Dani Harmer is most recognised for her portrayal of Tracy Beaker in the award-winning The Story Of Tracy Beaker for C³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ.

Ìý

Tracy Beaker has run for five successful series and a feature length episode The Movie Of Me. It has been nominated for numerous BAFTAs and Dani herself has been nominated for Best Actress at the Welsh BAFTAs.

Dani has also appeared on ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ shows such as Smile, C³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ On Air and The Mighty Truck Of Stuff.

Other TV credits include: Trial & Retribution, The Unknown Soldier, Beast, and Pie in the Sky.

Dani began her acting career at the age of six when she landed a role in Pete Townsend's rock musical Tommy.

Ryan Sampson plays Alex Venables

Alex Venables is Jimmy's unconventionally brilliant teenage son, much to Diana and Jimmy's dismay, the ever-cheerful Alex is unfortunately all momentum and no direction whatsoever.

Ryan Sampson's television roles include Holby City, In Denial of Murder, Wire in the Blood and Heartbeat.

Ryan has also appeared on stage in National and Regional theatre.

Amanda Abbington plays Siobhan

Jimmy's hairdresser girlfriend Siobhan has had enough bad relationships in her past to know that Jimmy, flawed though he is, is a lot better than the rest of the guys out there.

Amanda Abbington's recent television work includes a lead role in two series of the acclaimed ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Three sketch show Man Stroke Woman as well as roles in Booze Cruise II and III, The Robinsons, Derailed, Teachers and Coupling.

Lee Oakes plays Kev

Jimmy's assistant in the decorating trade, though he prefers to think of himself as "The guy who knows a guy". If you're looking for a lorry-load of slightly used 40 watt bulbs, Kev's your man.

Lee Oakes recently appeared in the film Alien Autopsy and his television works includes the role of Lee in ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Three's hit comedy Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet of Crisps, two series of Grease Monkeys and two series of Jimmy McGovern's ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ drama, The Lakes.

Vincent Ebrahim plays Bobby

Pub Landlord at Jimmy's local, Bobby sees the world through a pair of crap coloured glasses. Bobby always expects the worse and cheerfully shares his pessimism with his customers.

Vincent Ebrahim is a hugely experienced and diverse actor who over his impressive career has worked across film, television, theatre and radio.

Ìý

Often recognised for his role as Ashwin Kumar in the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ comedy series, The Kumar's at Number 42.

Ìý

Vincent has also appeared on television in ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ dramas, New Street Law, Clocking Off and Doctors and ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ comedies, Bedtime, The Lenny Henry Show and Meet The Magoon's for Channel 4.
