Give My Head Peace

成人快手 Northern Ireland - Autumn highlights 2005

December Programme Information

The Gang's back!

Give My Head Peace have Christmas all wrapped up

Northern Ireland's most dysfunctional family are back with an hour-long Give My Head Peace Christmas Special.

Following the huge success of previous specials - which have taken them from New York to Dublin via Spain, Rome and Memphis - the writing team behind Give My Head Peace are keeping this latest storyline very much under wraps.

Damon Quinn, producer, writer and one of the stars of the show said: "We're very excited about this Christmas special as it's our first hour-long show and reaffirms 成人快手 Northern Ireland's commitment to us as a team and also in promoting home-grown comedy.

"Viewers will just have to wait and see what we have in store for them, but we promise it will be a real treat!"

Give My Head Peace Christmas Special is due to be broadcast in December.

Running out of steam

Past, present and future of shipyard's three small cranes told in new 成人快手 ONE NI documentary

Three small steam cranes stand stoically on the remnants of their railway lines by the side of the Lagan.

After almost a century of heroic work in the shipyards, the cranes now face extinction due to rust and irresponsibility.

At their peak, the metal trio helped in the construction of many famous ships - including the Titanic.

Now, like many of the people of the area, their circumstances and prospects are greatly reduced and they are facing an uncertain future with dignity tinged with despair.

The 50-minute documentary Wee Three Cranes tells the story of the shipyard - from its heyday a century ago, through wars, troubles, regeneration and decline.

Uniquely, the story is told from the cranes' point of view and through the eyes of the men who worked with them.

Wee Three Cranes is narrated by Nuala McKeever, who is involved in the campaign for the restoration of the cranes.

The documentary uses archive footage, reconstruction and computer generated imagery to bring the cranes' legacy to life.

Wee Three Cranes is a Stirling production for 成人快手 ONE NI and in due for broadcast in December.
