Mezzanine Gallery
The Mezzanine gallery is on the first floor of the Broadway.
During the Big Grin Cartoon Festival the Mezzanine will be used
as a Cartoon Clinic, where you can get some top advice from the
professionals.
There will also be an exhibition of some of Viz
magazine's finest creations.
Broadway Facts
- The Broadway was built on the site of a 1839
Weslyan chapel, it was here that great Nottinghamian William Booth,
committed his life to God.
- The Nottingham Film Theatre opened on September
2nd 1966.
- The first films to be shown were: James Ivory's
'Shakespeare Wallah', John Ford's 'The Grapes or Wrath' and 'The
Italian Straw Hat'.
- Broadway was born out of a consortium of local
media organisations, backed by the British Film Institute, East
Midlands Arts, Nottingham City Council and Notts County Council.
- The Broadway was officially established in
1989.
