Deirdre Cartmill

Deirdre Cartmill was born in Moy, Co. Tyrone, and lives in Belfast , where she works as a television script editor for the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ. She won the Claddagh Films Script Award in 2003 and was short listed for a Hennessey Award.

Deirdre initially studied Electronic Engineering before completing an M.A. (Dist) in Creative writing at Queens University, Belfast.

She published her first collection of poems, ‘Midnight Solo' in 2004, under local publisher Lagan Press.
