Members
of Norfolk's blind clubs enjoy Norfolk Lavender's latest
crop. |
Hundreds
of members of blind clubs from all over the county revelled
in the smell of summer in a well-known corner of north Norfolk.
Norfolk
Lavender at Heacham has been linked with Norfolk and Norwich
Association for the Blind for one year and celebrated with a
tour and tea for members of Norfolk's blind clubs.
The company has been donating 50 pence to the NNAB for each
of lavender scented candle sold.
The outing
involved a more personal gift to blind club members including
a tour to one of its fields on the Sandringham Estate and cream
tea complete with lavender scone.

Chairman
of the Holt Blind Club, David Wilding was very impressed
with the outing: "The tour guide was most informative.
The smells of the lavender are simply superb," he said.
The
trip had been arranged by Joy Hodge, fundraiser for the NNAB,
who has long been an admirer of Norfolk Lavender.
"When
I came to work at NNAB I saw a connection between the blind
and the accessibility of the lavender. The tactile and sensory
elements of lavender are important - different lavenders can
be distinguished by touch and smell," she said.

Ann Head,
director of Norfolk Lavender, was pleased to welcome the members
of the blind clubs.
"Its
been wonderful to welcome so many splendid partially sighted
people here.
"This
is a real celebration of the first year that we have been working
with NNAB," she said.
