Alan Burn, Bradwell: When I was young - around 1948 - and living with my grandparents in Cobham, Great Yarmouth, I saw a ghost. I was in the hall and saw this ghostly figure of a man. I followed him down the hall but he turned left and through our front living room door, so I opened it only to see him disappear up the chimney. I know I was a young boy but it really did happen.

James writes: On October 5, 1997 in Mundsley, Norfolk, a few friends and I noticed a object hovering in the evening sky with coloured lights rotating round the bottom of it. At first we thought it was a helicopter doing a rescue or drill out at sea but then realised there was too many lights on it. After about 15 minutes we checked again and it was still there then all of a sudden it flew off at a great speed.

Patrick Penn's solution: I know exactly what James saw on the night in question! At the time I was based at RAF Neatishead just outside Norwich. We started to get phone calls about strange lights in the sky and did we know what they were. A colleague and I then went outside to have a look for ourselves. I must admit it was very strange and looked like a large spinning disk just above the cloud cover. We watched it for some time and then returned to duty. What it was... was a dredger with its lights on beaming into the water and reflecting back up to the clouds. I hope that clears that up for you James.

Paul Jeffs, Cleveland, on blue birds: Did anyone consider that after shooting anything let alone an owl that most of the dead would turn blue. Owls beware! Norfolk is a dangerous place to live!

Elaine Bumfrey, Fakenham: Wondered why it rains nearly every market day in Fakenham? Well the story is that years ago Walsingham used to hold a market, but then moved to Fakenham. There was a witch of Walsingham who was upset by this and so put a curse on the market of Fakenham. She said: "There will be more wet than dry days for Fakenham market." People who have heard of this call this the story of the Walsingham witch. You can always guarantee that there will be more wet market days than dry - is it just a coincidence?

Marj in Australia writes: I thought that if that blue owl had been seen today it would not have been shot but captured and investigated. Nothing really weird ever happens, there is usually a logical explanation, like the bread with the swans. I feed ducks bread - they don't change colour.

Emma Staford : By any chance has anyone considered the fact that the owls may have been radioactive?
