  1. Police dog proves there's 'nose' escaping the law

    This tweet shows how a drugs stash was buried in a plant pot - and whoever hid them there was "snout of luck" after a police dog sniffed it out.

    Humberside Police also shared a picture on Twitter of Toby the police dog looking proud of his big find:

  3. Victims of crime get chance to 'share the pain'

    A scheme which allows victims of crime to meet the offender who committed the offence face to face is being promoted in Lincolnshire.

    Scales of justice

    Restorative Justice, which is run in partnership with the police, is used by about 70 people every year in the county.

    The project allows victims to explain to the offender how their actions affected them, ask questions and seek an explanation from the offender.

    It's a chance for people who have been harmed to tell their story and share the pain and impact of the crime on their lives with the person who caused it."

  6. Cycle safety initiative begins

    "Keep them alive at one point five" is the message Lincolnshire Police is hoping to get across today.

    They're educating drivers to leave a 1.5m gap when overtaking cyclists.

    The force will have officers out on bikes today and any driver who passes too close will be pulled over and given some advice.

    Essentially, we want to get away from the thinking that you can just squeeze through. That is potentially a life and death decision. Whether you are the cyclist cutting through queues, or the driver passing too close, we want you to think twice."

  7. Tribute paid to 'great man' who died in motorbike crash

    The family of a motorcyclist who died in a collision with a car near Boston at the weekend have paid tribute to him.

    The crash happened at about 06:45 on Saturday morning on the Boardsides in Hubberts Bridge.

    The family of Roy Woodhouse say he was a man who "loved his bikes and his Speedway".

    Mr Woodhouse was "a great man" who will be "greatly missed", they add.

    A 29-year-old man who was arrested in connection with the crash has been released under investigation.

  8. Gainsborough football legend honoured

    A plaque to celebrate the life of one of football's little known legends has been unveiled in Gainsborough.

    Fred Spiksley, who was born in the town, was arguably football's first professional superstar - a 19th Century version of David Beckham.

    Today, Spiksley is remembered as an amazing footballer with a colourful lifestyle.

    Actress and singer Sheridan Smith will perform in Hull next year.

    She will appear at the city's Bonus Arena in March, as part of a tour in support of her second album A Northern Soul.

    The Funny Girl star was born in Epworth, North Lincolnshire.

    Craig David is coming to Lincolnshire.

    It's just been announced that the musician will be performing at Market Rasen racecourse next August.

  12. Lincoln city centre gets free wi-fi

    You can connect to free wi-fi in Lincoln city centre from today.

    The City of Lincoln Council say coverage will start in the Bailgate and end in lower High Street near the outskirts of the city.

    It will appear on phones and devices as COLin City of Lincoln Free Wi-fi.

  13. Women's safety group attracts thousands of members

    A group's been set up on social media to make sure young women in Lincoln feel safe when walking home at night.

    It's been started by university student Amber Marshall.

    She decided to establish the group after hearing some of her friends expressing concerns about being on their own late in the evening.

    Members post on the group to try and find other people to walk home with at the end of the evening.

    In three weeks, the group has attracted over 2,500 members.

    Lincolnshire Police say the county is one of the safest in the country, but the force encouraged anyone, male or female, to plan their way home after a night out.
