A "stinger" device has been used to stop a car on the M5 which was believed to have been stolen during a burglary on the Wirral in Merseyside, police say.
Motorway police started to pursue the car just outside Worcester at 06:00 this morning as it travelled northbound on the M5.
West Midlands Police say that despite have its tyres deflated by the stinger the car still continued around the junction 2 roundabout at Oldbury (pictured) and veered the wrong way down the southbound slip road before officers were able to bring it to a halt.
Police say a 27-year-old man from Liverpool was arrested on suspicion of burglary, dangerous driving and failing to stop for police.
A 24-year-old man who was a passenger, also from Liverpool, was arrested on suspicion of burglary.
A 25-year-old man, also a passenger in the vehicle, was arrested but taken to hospital with minor injuries and will be questioned later, a spokesman says.
The family of a postman whose body was found in a ditch have described life since his death as a "nightmare".
The body of David Charles Lamont was found by a member of the public by the side of Burrow Hill Lane, in Corley, Warwickshire, on 23 October.
In a statement, Mr Lamont's family said: "The past five months following David's tragic death have been an absolute nightmare.
"He had so much to live for; hopes, dreams and desires. All ripped away from him by a man too selfish to tell the truth.
"I don't think we will ever know what really happened to him or why. That hurts, but I hope now our family can finally mourn and really lay him to rest." Â

An initiative created to make Coventry a world leader in rugby is marking its first birthday.
The project, called Coventry, a City of Rugby, was set up last April to encourage more people to play the sport, improve facilities and attract major events to the city.Â
Organisers say it's resulted in more than 60,000 people of all ages participating in or watching a form of rugby-related activity in the past 12 months.
