    Two men have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a woman was knocked down and killed in Rugby.

    The pedestrian, in her 60s, was struck by a blue Nissan in Bilton Road at about 18:40 GMT on Sunday.

    One 54-year-old man from Rugby was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while under the influence of drugs.

    A 35-year-old thought to be in an Audi in the area at the time was also held.

    Officers are continuing to investigate a stabbing in Coventry city centre on Saturday.

    A 15-year-old suffered knife injuries to his leg and lower body following reports of disorder at about 18:00 in Trinity Street, police said.

    A dispersal order was put in place allowing officers to arrest anyone who returns to the designated area after being moved on by police.

    The victim was treated in hospital and later discharged.

    Plans for an "escalation" in industrial action by bin workers in Birmingham are set to be announced today.

    About 300 Unite members have been working to rule since 29 December over a payment given to GMB members who did not strike in 2017.

    Unite said it had not had a "satisfactory response" from Birmingham City Council and would announce today how it planned to escalate action.

    The council said it was disappointed its "reasonable offer" had been rejected.
