"Scottie
Road pubs are legendary, if just for their names alone!"
Ron

"My
conversations with people of all age groups reminded me
of a saying often used but in this case true - 'they're
the salt of the earth.'" - Ron Formby

Social
clubs formed the hub of Saturday night life in Scotland
Road.
We recieved this message from Billy Duffy in Australia: "I was looking at the Scotty Road scenes
and got a shock when I saw My mother playing bingo.
I think it would have been St Anthony's, but could
have been St Sillys. She is the lady in the forefront
of the left hand photo of the two joined photos.
Mam died in 1987 aged 88. The pictures of Scotty brought
back many memories for me. Dad was a docker and his
local was "The Widdows" opposite St Anthonys. "
