Did you know that Leicestershire has it's very own long-distance footpath?

It's one hundred miles long and it's a circular walk called The Leicestershire Round. It starts, and finishes at Newtown Linford, the gateway to Bradgate Park.

成人快手 Leicester presenter, Chris Baxter, proves he can talk the talk on-air every weekday afternoon, but can he prove that he can also walk the walk, by hot-footing it around The Leicestershire Round.

Chris has been walking 'The Round,' on and off, since May 2009 in 10 stages. Take a look at his pictures of his journey and listen to his documentary...

Walk The Walk?

Chris wants to encourage people to get out and about on-foot and enjoy a beautiful part of the country that is often forgotten in regular walking guide-books.

"I'm a keen hiker, having completed many of England's long-distance paths like; the Pennine Way, Dales Way, Cornish Coastal Path, Cumbria Way and Cotswold Way and many more.

"Having recently become a Dad, I decided this year I should try a long-distance path on my own doorstep! It's been a real eye-opener."

The Leicestershire Round passes through the Soar and Wreake Valleys, before climbing to high ground at Burrough Hill near Melton Mowbray.

The footpath then passes through beautiful villages like Somerby, Hallaton, The Langtons and Foxton. It also crosses major motorways, tours, canal towpaths and ancient battle sites.

Take a look at his pictures of his journey...

Stay tuned! Stages four-10 still to come...
