The history of coracles takes us back thousands of years to the first civilizations of the world and was one of the first forms of water transport.
The origins of such craft emerged from the need for hunter-gathers to traverse areas of water in the search for food. This need prompted man’s inventiveness to create a craft made from locally available natural materials using very basic tools.
