The Derbyshire Archaeological Society was founded in 1878 as an archaeological and natural history society to foster and encourage interest in the past life and natural history of the county. Though natural history has been taken over by other societies, the Society has widened its archaeological and historical work in response to new needs. There are now four sections: the Archaeological Research Group, the Architectural Section, the Industrial Archaeological Section, and the Local History Section. | Contact:

The North East Midland Photographic Record 'Picture the Past' website. This project is jointly managed by the local authorities of Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham, and ottinghamshire with financial assistance from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
