Title:
Harold Read's D-Day memories
Having lied about his age when he volunteered, 14414899
private Harold Read, of Longhope (Gloucestershire), was just 16 years
old when he landed on a Normandy beach on the evening of the sixth of
June 1944.
Following a stint of training in Scotland, his
regiment the 1st Oxford and Buckinghamshire was moved to the south coast
unaware of what lay ahead for them.
