There's a really simple way to zhuzh up your cupcakes, and that is to cut a hole out and fill them. You can use anything from lemon curd to chocolate spread and jam. The choice is yours.
Once they're filled you can cover them however you like, here we show you how to use butter cream with a variety of nozzles to get different effects.
