Conductor John Storg氓rds returns to MediaCityUK to lead the orchestra in this afternoon鈥檚 programme and a double serving of Sibelius.

The Bard is reflective and melancholy, full of expressive tenderness, while The Wood Nymph鈥檚 frantic energy conjures up visions of Nordic forests and mythical enchantment.

The programme also includes Kay鈥檚 Of New Horizons, for which he won an American Broadcasting Company prize in 1946, followed by Coleridge-Taylor鈥檚 roistering dance rhapsody The Bamboula.
