It might be hard to wrap your head around the fact that the Manic Street Preachers released their debut single Suicide Alley in 1988 - a record they raised the cash to release themselves as an unsigned band. Since that point, the band have overcome difficulties (none more so than the disappearance of founding member Richey Edwards) to earn a seat at the very top table of British guitar music.
With a back catalogue that is so dearly loved by their legion of fans, their set lists are total treasure troves of great indie singles taken from iconic albums including Everything Must Go and The Holy Bible.
Never sitting still, the band performed a special gig at 6 Music Live At Maida Vale last October and are on the verge of releasing their twelfth studio album, Futurology in July. Tracks from the album (which features guest vocals from Georgia Ruth and Cate Le Bon) have been debuted on their current UK tour and we expect more samples in their Worthy Farm set.
