His creative union with ballet impresario Sergei Diaghilev was one of the most influential collaborations of the 20th century, which altered the nature of ballet, and for Picasso opened a whole new world of artistic exploration.
50 years after his death we celebrate his work in a concert solely featuring music of the ballets he designed for - from Stravinsky鈥檚 Pulcinella in which traditional stories were 鈥渆ntirely transformed into striking modernist masterpieces, reimagining the ballet as a site for clashing avant-garde styles, shapes and forms鈥� through his costumes and set design, to Satie鈥檚 angular, confrontational and avant-garde Parade and De Falla鈥檚 Three Cornered Hat, telling a Spanish love story set within the Andalusian mountains.
