More J. S. Bach, both unalloyed and as the basis for improvisation. Then Cameron Carpenter鈥檚 grandest challenge yet: the 鈥楽yncretic Prelude and Fugue鈥� proceeds from the 鈥榰ltimate鈥� chaconne to an astonishing transformation of the finale of Mahler鈥檚 Fifth, demonstrating its own links with Bachian practice.

Says Cameron, 鈥楾he pairing of these two works is something I鈥檝e only been able to attempt on a very few of the great organs of the world 鈥� it pushes me to my extreme utmost of both virtuosity
and expressivity, which is exactly how I鈥檇 hope to perform at the Proms.鈥�
