Concert Information
Goldfrapp鈥檚 Will Gregory curates a programme that responds and reacts to Kirchin鈥檚 fascination with texture and sonic collage.
In a series of pieces specially devised for the occasion, St. Etienne鈥檚 Bob Stanley and Pete Wiggs create Abstractions of Holderness, an audio-visual work inspired by Kirchin鈥檚 1970s residency in East Yorkshire. Sonic Youth鈥檚 Jim O鈥橰ourke responds to his favourite Kirchin piece Integration and Will Gregory explores the potential of the human voice.
Pianist and composer Matthew Bourne opens the concert with a highly individual take on Kirchin鈥檚 world, while producer, composer and performer Matthew Herbert will contribute a brand new piece that combines sounds from everyday items to create extraordinary music.
This concert will be recorded for future broadcast on 成人快手 Radio 3鈥檚 Hear and Now.
