Celebrate International Women鈥檚 Day 2016 鈥� a global day recognising the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of woman 鈥� with the 成人快手 Symphony Orchestra and 成人快手 Singers at Maida Vale Studios in this special concert devoted to the orchestral and choral a capella music of some of the world鈥檚 leading female composers.

Oboist Emily Pailthorpe is the soloist in Thea Musgrave鈥檚 virtuosic Concerto for Oboe and Orchestra 鈥楬elios鈥�, depicting the circular movements of ancient Greek god of the sun: Helios, and both the 成人快手 Singers and 成人快手 Symphony Orchestra join forces in Judith Weir鈥檚 climatic piece for orchestra and chorus 鈥楳oon and Star鈥� 鈥� a portrayal of the vastness of space, with words by nineteenth century poet Emily Dickinson.

This concert will be broadcast live on 成人快手 Radio 3.

Admission is on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that as not everyone who asks for tickets uses them, to make sure we have a full house we send out more tickets than there are places. We do our best to get the numbers right, but unfortunately we occasionally have to disappoint people so please arrive early.
