Sounds From the Other City (SFTOC) present the final part of the trilogy between Liverpool based trio Ex Easter Island Head (EEIH) and the 成人快手 Philharmonic.
In the past two years at SFTOC the trio have composed 2 brand new pieces of music and performed them alongside an ensemble of the 成人快手 Philharmonic, including a harpist, trumpeter, string duos and a double bass in both Vimto Gardens & Salford Cathedral.
This year sees the trio join forces with musician Laura Cannell and a new selection of musicians from the 成人快手 Philharmonic, including a multi-wind pipe instrumentalist, a trumpeter a violin & viola players. Cannell, who specialises in playing fiddle, overbowed fiddle, double recorders and other rarefied wind instruments, draws upon ancient transcendental and earthly musics and will be working with both EEIH & 成人快手 Philharmonic to compose a site specific composition together that will be performed in the surroundings of Salford Cathedral at this years Sounds From the Other City Festival.
