Damon Albarn
Fri 28 Feb 2014 Stage 1
Gorilla Out Of The Mist

A good friend to 6 Music and a true 21st Century renaissance man, step forward Mr Albarn.

Less than two years ago the Blur frontman and Gorillaz co-creator presented an exclusive performance of his opera Dr Dee on Stuart Maconie's Freak Zone. Since then he's reunited with his Blur bandmates for Lammo at our Maida Vale studios, played a session for Lauren alongside soul legend Bobby Womack and created a unique audio collage to mark 90 years of ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ radio.

But all eyes are on Damon in 2014 as he stands by to release his first ever solo album. Working with producer and label boss Richard Russell, Damon's describing the album as "sort of folk soul".

With this his first ever full-length solo set featuring songs from the forthcoming solo album, who better to close the first night of the inaugaral 6 Music Fest.
