Written in London but looking home to Barry in Wales, homesickness and a longing for the seaside inspired Grace Williams鈥� Sea Sketches which opens tonight鈥檚 programme. Mahler then takes us on a gargantuan symphonic journey in his mighty fifth symphony. This colossal symphony bristles with intensity as sombre marches and storms are overcome by music of light and hope, and that鈥檚 not to mention the gloriously impassioned Adagietto.
