The Devon-based winemaker starts his pitch and immediately faces the moment entrepreneurs dread - he completely forgets his lines.
Seconds pass like hours as he struggles to regain his composure under the baleful eye of the silent Dragons.
Deborah gets tough
However, with wiry resolve, Geoff does manage to complete his pitch and invites the Dragons to a wine tasting.
James Caan immediately declines on religious grounds and declares himself out.
Theo Paphitis attempts to unpick the leasehold offer Geoff is making to winelovers while Duncan Bannatyne demonstrates his wine knowledge by asking about Geoff's production process.
Geoff's answers impress Duncan but leave Theo confused.
Deborah Meaden seeks clarification on how she will get a return on her £60,000 investment but Geoff visibly struggles to present his financial case.
Duncan Bannatyne intervenes, saying he does understand it and is willing to explain it to Deborah.
Deborah is unimpressed and insists she is investing in Geoff, not Duncan. She needs to know if the entrepreneur knows his numbers.
Duncan nonetheless clarifies what's on offer and sensing an opportunity offers the viticulturist the £60,000 he is seeking for 40%, double the equity he was prepared to give away.
The Scot's bold move focuses the remaining Dragons. They all swiftly declare themselves out, unconvinced by Geoff's business model.
A relieved Geoff gratefully accepts Duncan's offer.
