There's a wintry flavour to the weather across Wales today with a front bringing a mixture of rain, sleet and snow to many areas. The snow settling in some places too.Ìý
The Met Office has issued a warning for snow for Powys, Monmouthshire and the South Wales Valleys valid until 6pm today.

2 to 5cm of snow in places, (1 to 2 inches) with 10cm, (4 inches) possible on some of the hills and mountains. There could also be some snow in North Wales on the high ground.

Rain on the coast. Light sleet or snow in Cardiff.

.

During this afternoon the rain, sleet and snow will turn lighter and more patchy as times goes on with some fog on the higher level roads.

Most of Pembrokeshire will remain dry with perhaps a little sunshine in the west of the county.

The wind will be easing but it will feel cold. Highest temperatures around 1 to 4°C. Holyhead and St.David's will be around 6°C.

This evening we'll see a few spots of light rain, with the sleet or snow dying out, leaving a dry night with a few mist and fog patches.

Lowest temperatures inland will be around -1°C with a slight frost in places and a risk of icy patches.

Thursday morning: A grey start for some areas with mist and fog patches, mainly in the east. These will lift onto the hills. The best of the sunshine will be in parts of west and north west Wales.

Thursday afternoon: Light rain will spread from the west later in the afternoon. It will feel chilly tomorrow with a freshening south easterly wind. Top temperatures 5°C in Wrexham and Brecon. 7°C in Cardiff, Swansea and Bangor.

Thursday night: We'll all see some rain - heavy at times too with strong south-easterly winds and gales in the Irish Sea. Rainfall totals will be around 15 to 25mm, locally 40 to 50mm (1 to 2 inches) over higher ground with a risk of localised flooding.

Friday: The rain will clear early on Friday. It will brighten up with some sunshine and a few showers in the afternoon. Highs on Friday with temperatures between 8°C and 10°C and a mainly light west to south westerly breeze.
