Sailing cows steer the r'udder

It's not everyday you see a cow out at sea in Wales...
But if you were visiting Ramsey Island recently then that's exactly what you would have seen.
Ramsey Island reserve has introduced cattle to the island for the first time in 40 years.
Four Welsh blacks were shipped in on 28 June and are the first of their kind to since 1963 and I'm sure would have had something to say about that!
A strong winch is needed for this lift:
Alongside the cattle, there are 200 ewes and 5 ponies and there's a very good reason for all this happening which I've broken down into this complex equation:
grazing = short grass = habitat for birds.
Lapwings which are in decline throughout Wales, love short, tussocky grass for nesting.
