Horseplay

Well that's it! The filming's all over and it's rather sad I must say. Just arrived back from Aberaeron after our last day of filming was cancelled due to poor weather conditions. I've been home for approximately 4 hours and I'm feeling totally lost. It feels so very strange that we've finally finished after 7 weeks of intense filming. I really don't know how my life is going to get 'back to normal' ever again!

We've had a fantastic week having yet again visited some glorious areas in Wales. We went horse riding (which at first I was totally horrified with as I don't feel comfortable with horses), visited some rock pools and went on a boat over to Skomer island to visit the cute little puffins.

Wow, yet another totally interesting week, though I did find the rock pools a little tedious after an hour or so! So I decided that as the weather was so glorious, I would catch up with a touch of sunbathing on the rocks.

To begin with, I was extremely uneasy at approaching the horse and did have difficulty in trying to get on! So thanks to a massive 'push' from two horsey women, I managed to get on Blondie (how appropriate)and then tried to keep completely still to avoid upsetting her in any way. The minute her head started to drop to the ground I had visions of me sliding all the way down her neck and off over her head. The instructor did reassure me that this wouldn't happen and made sure that I knew how to handle my horse before moving off anywhere.

I'm rather a slow learner and don't tend to pick things up straight away, so I wasn't feeling comfortable at all with my horse for at least 20 minutes, until my instructor told me off - which soon stopped me moaning!

Once I got into it, I was off like John Wayne and, wow, did I feel good! Never in a million years did I think I'd try horse riding as an adult. My daughter has been asking for 12 months if she can start horse riding, so last week I booked her in for her first lesson this Friday.

I was told that I would have to go with her and guide the horse, which I wasn't very comfortable with. So when I managed to try out some horse riding this week I felt so much happier about her first horse riding lesson. It was obviously meant to be!
