Ruth Jones stars in The Great Outdoors

Ruth Jones stars in new comedy The Great Outdoors on ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Four, which follows the hikes, heartaches, friendships and rivalries of a misfit rambling club.

The comedy also features comedian Mark Heap as rambling club organiser Bob. In the first episode, which goes out tonight (Wednesday 28 July), Bob begins a titanic battle of wills with the newest member Christine - played by Welsh star Jones - for the heart and soul of his treasured walking group.

Bob's teenage daughter Hazel is mortified at the arrival of geeky Victor from her school and married businesswoman Sophie is looking for a way out from her freeloading husband Joe.

The programme is part of The Call Of The Wild on ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Four, a celebration of the great British love affair with the countryside - whatever the weather.
