Ruth Jones to star as Carry On's Hattie Jacques

Gavin & Stacey star Ruth Jones is set to star in a new one-off drama on the private life of comedy actor Hattie Jacques.
The drama, set to be screened later in 2010 on ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ4, will examine the complicated love life of the Carry On legend, which saw Jacques embark on an affair with a younger man while married to Dad's Army star John Le Mesurier.
Jones said of Jacques: "She was an incredibly talented and fascinating woman both on and off screen and so much more than just the 'funny fat lady'."
