Rembrandt painting on show at National Museum

A portrait of Catrina Hooghsaet by Rembrandt, which has hung in Penrhyn Castle near Bangor for 150 years, has gone on display at Cardiff's National Museum and Gallery of Wales.
Rembrandt, one of the world's most celebrated artists, was commissioned in 1657 to paint the portrait of the weathy lady from Amsterdam.
First Minister Rhodri Morgan showed his appreciation of the work, commenting: "Next to having the Mona Lisa on loan, I cannot think of any better 'must see' attraction that we could possibly have in the National Museum."
The painting forms parts of the 's exhibition, which also features etchings by the artist. It runs from 4 November 2009 until 21 March 2010.
