It's been a while since I've blogged... there's just so much going on at the moment. Week one is always bonkers as we get into the flow of things and work out who our animals stars are going to be. And now we have a new home here at Pensthorpe in Norfolk it's taking even longer for life to feel normal and settled (does it ever on such a live and unpredictable production as this ?!).

Where does all the time go?! I was up at five this morning (lots to do - it's Day One) and I don't seem to have had a minute all day to catch my breath. I'm writing this and it's already nearly five in the afternoon and our main rehearsal is about to start. Where did those 12 hours go?

This is my fifth season working in this team and the last few years have completely changed my experience of spring. As soon as the hedgerows light up with hawthorn blossom and the swifts start screaming across the sky, I get a unique and heady mix of fear, excitement and anticipation.
