bobby_mcferrin_blog.jpgCan it really be a whole year since Celtic Connections 2009? Well not quite, but this morning over bacon rolls and coffee in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, festival director Donald Shaw launched next January's festival programme.

The line-up is now live on the official . The international contingent continues to expand with acts coming from all over the world. Highlights include , a couple of big tribute concerts for old pals John Martyn and Nick Drake, Dick Gaughan goes dub (!!), a huge ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ concert celebrating Gaelic song and Ry Cooder teaming up with The Chieftains - but really those form just the tiny tip of a very big January iceberg. Read on for details of ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ activities...

Have a look at last year's site to get an idea of our level of web coverage - over seven hours of video still available to watch. The ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ has recently upped the quality of our web video too - if you like numbers, we've gone from 512K to 800K - quite a jump, so if you have a good broadband connection you should get excited.

For TV, there will be the usual big ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ concert in the Fruitmarket, filmed for ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Scotland but available nationally via iPlayer, plus more TV filming TBC.
On radio, loads of Radio Scotland coverage, including again special concerts in the foyer of Pacific Quay (³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Scotland's Clydeside HQ), and Radio 2 and Radio 3 will also be presenting special Celtic Connections programmes.

We were pleased to see a couple of bands recently featured on Radio Scotland's Another Country returning to play the festival - The Low Anthem and Madison Violet, two acts we filmed for the web.

Look out for more updates here as more of our planning gets underway.
