³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Four has made a bit of a specialty of historical music docs recently, with sometimes excellent results - Do it Yourself: The Story of Rough Trade was one of those. Charting the story of one of the most important labels in British music, it was fascinating watching how the socialist ideals of the 1970s slowly became corrupted by success in the 80s. Some great music, I was particularly entertained by quirky female band who I'd heard of but never heard before.

Very smart of ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Four to show another programme on the same night with full length versions of most tracks they've used for clips. There's nothing more annoying than seeing amazing old footage of a band and then it cuts to a talking head after 30 seconds. But when you know you're getting the full thing right after you don't mind.

NB as usual with iPlayer stuff this will expire in 7 days, get watching...
