Murray Lachlan Young
This week鈥檚 poet, Murray Lachlan Young, has performed in many diverse situations: Mega festivals (and little ones), TV, film and theatre. From Shakespeare鈥檚 Globe to Speakers Corner via the main stage at Glastonbury. He has won over hostile crowds, been threatened with violence and even had to run for his life.
Murray shot to fame in the late 鈥90s after securing a one million pound record deal, the first spoken word artist to be given such a deal by the mainstream music industry. In an attempt to escape all the hype he hightailed it to Italy, then lived in Paris and Sussex before settling in Cornwall with his family.
In Bounds The Bozzer
With an eye for a thigh and an old fashioned pie
With the chicken McNugget his rallying cry
Here comes Boris Johnson so scousers beware
In bounds the bozzer that stray polar bear
He鈥檚 guffing out gaffs for the corps to guffaw
鈥淥i say something Boris! Yeah, food then the war鈥
It鈥檚 not until Bozzer is loose with his tongue
You could say that the conference has really begun
As the Blair is the Blair as the Hoff is the Hoff
Well the Bozzers the Bozzer the punk rockers toff
A blancmange on a bicycle bluff and obtuse
Like a golfing celebrity what is his use?
No, he鈥檚 too good for politics he should be king
So lets kneel to show fealty and kiss Bozzers ring
Spider Poem
Incy wincey spider climbing up the spout
Along came a pod cast and freaked the spider out
The spider turned to gambling and lost his spiders web
Then down came a cellist and landed on his head
Up jumped the Boris Johnson, helped him to his feet
Took him to a place that sold reconstituted meat
The spider took to binging and quickly turned obese
Along came Jamie Oliver who brought the food police
They took him to a specialist who claimed he was quite rare
On account of having an unusual type of hair
They rushed him to a publicist who got him on TV
Soon he got a stalker and the spider had to flee
He squeezed back up a drainpipe still fat from Bozzers pies
And after months of counselling, returned to catching flies
.
