TRANSFORMERS : REVENGE OF THE FALLEN

Now after seeing Transformers 2 "The Rise Of The Fallen" TWICE, (DON'T LISTEN to the negative comments about the movie. It was thoroughly enjoyable). I wondered would the game live up to the hype or fail like so many movies that have been transformed (excuse the pun) into games in the past.
Right I'm going to be positive from the start! The fact that I could be Bumble Bee or Optimus Prime, transform and mash up everything is a good look in my book.
The motion and game play is quite smooth, but a little awkward. You can be a Decepticon or an Autobot and more or less follow the plan of the movie. Optimus, Ironhide and Megatron sound really good. But when did Bumble Bee get his voice fixed? And who voiced the human characters? It sure as hell didn't sound like Shia LeBeouf and Megan Fox!

If you've seen the movie, its well worth taking on the bonus challenges to give yourself a little varied game play, other wise you'll feel the game is bit repetitive. You'll earn gold and platinum medals which you can use to upgrade your character. Whats great is if you deal with the tasks well you get to unlock some of the original cartoons. (I did like those). It'll take a while to master the controls but once you do the game opens up. A nice touch in the fact you can always look back at the replays.

The on-line game play is what helps this game and should be attempted when you've had a little experience. Get to know your robots and their weapons well, this will help strategically when you team up on-line. The game play becomes more thought out as well as fun.

Gotta say thought there are a few things that can be quite annoying, which shouldn't be happening in this day and age. The A.I is poor, you have to keep holding the R2 button to stay transformed into a car which is ridiculous because the buttons change depending on which mode your in. (robot, car or weapon). It can also get a little glitchy in spots. (so definitely not good).

Overall though It's a good game for the hardcore Transformer followers and the younger gamers. At least you won't be stepping on bits of Megatron and Bumblebee toys around the yard.
