17 Again - Zac Efron charms your socks off as a teen version of Matthew Perry, magically transformed back to his senior year at high school. It's fun. 4 stars.

Fast & Furious - Forget the plot and three quarters of the cast - this is all about the return of Vin Diesel to the franchise that made him a star. He growls, he drives fast cars, he growls again. He's awesome. 4 stars.

Dragonball: Evolution - It may not be for the manga purists, but this Hollywood version of the classic Japanese anime is fast and funny enough, with a strong performance by Justin Chatwin as kung-fu mad teen Goku. 3 stars.

Let The Right One In - eerie, eerie, eerie Swedish horror pic about a 12 year old loner and his new bezzy mate - a young girl vampire. Ice, snow and lots of blood make an unforgettable mix. 5 stars.

Race To Witch Mountain - Dwayne Johnson plays a taxi driver with issues, forced to help two alien kids who land in the Nevada desert. Average holiday fodder, with Dwayne playing it too downbeat to be really exciting. 2 stars.
