Our Economics editor Paul Mason has just arrived back from Greece, and tonight he will have the latest on the economic crisis both there and further afield.
Plus we will be asking why, unlike in 2009, there is no sign of global leaders coming together to deal with the problem and opting instead for "kicking the can down the road".
Mark Urban will be picking over Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas' decision to present the Palestinians' bid for statehood at the UN later today, despite a US promise to veto the move in the Security Council.
And Susan Watts will have more on the experiment results which are baffling scientists at Cern, home of the Large Hadron Collider, that appear to show subatomic particles known as neutrinos have exceeded the speed of light.

Could this undermine Einstein鈥檚 Relativity? Well, if you study it properly there was actually a lot of controversy over Relativity when it emerged. One of the most vocal critics was chemist Frederick Soddy:
鈥渢he theory of relativity, as modified by the modern quantum theory, seems an excellent example of progress in the merely mathematical sphere 鈥.Possibly the Einstein relation is a one-way relation only between mass and energy not between energy and mass, or even more probably, it may not be strictly true at all, as mathematical infinities do not occur in Nature"
Soddy鈥檚 skepticism is there for all to see: 鈥渋t may not be strictly true at all鈥.
So is modern physics falling apart now, just like the theories of modern economics is?

It would appear that the banks have now got actual cash on their books, but perhaps they will not lend it into our real sustainable economy and yet again lend it for speculation in commodities. One bonus of the stock market crash has been that oil prices have come down ( once again the banks calling in loans to speculators ), lets hope they don't try to start the whole ponzi of borrowed borrowing yet again.

The main crisis in 2008/2009 was actually in the UK & the EU & ROW stood shoulder to shoulder making sure that Gordon Brown pulverised the British taxpayer rather than the incompetent bankers that gambled with our money.
Gordo piled the debt on the British taxpayer - but now our fellow Europeans & Americans are facing a similar crisis - their politicians wouldn't dare transfer the debt onto e.g. French & German taxpayers as these German, French & US politicians would be hounded out of office. USA is, of course, a little different, as controlling the global reserve currency, for the time being.
In effect, that is what happened to Brown in the 2010 UK general election - he was 'hounded out' and the German & French politicians are in stalemate as to what to do - as they would both appear to fear/respect their bankers, depending on one's point of view - seemingly in equal measures & simply do not know what to do or are too scared to reveal their preference.
Brown had no such qualms about thumping the British - mainly English taxpayers - the 'squeezed middle' as Millipede calls them - which is appropriate as it was Brown's Labour govt that set in motion debt repayments that will continue the squeeze for the next 50 years.
Having seen this occur - Can we really expect French & German politicians to rush in like Brown & be so easy about making the same or similar mistakes as Brown/previous UK Labour govt?
Hence the very dangerous - 'SQUEE-CESSION' in mainly western, 'Anglo Saxon' business modelled economies.

They do not warrant the 'who' of individual identity, more the 'what' of something on ones shoe.

The point being - Labour should not have lost that election even with Brown in charge as they had a massive majority in the House of Commons.
Brown was 'hounded out' over debts, deficits & taxes & liabilities - and the European politicians do not wish to follow in his footsteps - hence the lack of progress on European debt issues

Actually, the particle or entity that has no mass, no charge and absolutely no interaction with anything in this universe should be the one that holds the ultimate speed record. Unfortunately, such a particle or entity by definition is impossible to detect.

Can you not see how you are confused? China has a managed Planned Economy, the USA has a libertarian, free-market economy. They are on the same planet, but they operate with different Constitutions. You have to look at each system from within it's own system and not look at each in terms of each other. Each consider themselves democracies.
China manages its population and its government and has a primary duty to its people, not the rest of the world or to shareholders (who could be anywhere in the USA given the NYSE etc). If US companies don't want goods from China and don't want to set up factories in China, it does not have to. It is Americans(?) who have done this, to enrich a minority.
They only care about the other Americans as consumers. What will happen is that US based businesses will look for consumers elsewhere in the world, in developing markets. They have no national loyalty like China does.
Stop referring to China as if it is another USA which is not playing by the USA's rules. Why should it?
The biggest currency manipulators are the US, and in doing so, are totally abusing their power of having reserve currency status (only just I might add).

Try and see beyond the simple headline. Think of what others want you to feel and think about this story. What might their ulterior motives be? Think of these stories as pawns in a game of chess....try to think a few moves forward.
Are these types of people being 'employed' to DELIBERATELY exploit our welfare system TO THE MAXIMUM?
Why else would such people leave their own countries and come here? What makes here more attractive? This is one of the problems with building a welfare state. It's why socialist countries built walls of some sort. It was to keep others out (remember the ring around West Berlin, and enclave in East Germany?).
Most people don't mind hard working immigrants who integrate, providing the economy can sustain them and that they contribute. The justified fear that many have, is that immigrants will turn their enclaves into a replication of the communities which they left back home. In many respects those fears are well grounded.
Because you want a liberal, non authoritarian (aka anarchistic) government. That's why we have seen so much deregulation though, that's why we are losing the welfare state through cuts and privatisation! That's why people have been financially exploited. Many of those doing the exploiting are very keen on mass immigration, as it means more consumers, more debtors, often spending welfare money too!

Bbc Correctness or Asinine Dogma, the result seems the same.

The Jewish zero looks a bit tenuous; ours just about as ill-defined.
Let's just look forward to the Mayan 'End Time'.
In passing: since each zero is notional, the world should settle on BZ and AZ - any zero will do.

The problem is Westminster. It is systemically, intrinsically, constitutionally CORRUPT.
FOR EVIL TO TRIUMPH, ALL THAT IS REQUIRED IS FOR GOOD MEN TO DO NOTHING.

Almost like a cartel agreement . . .
Westminster politics is a game, in which 'all shall have prizes' - except the dumb electorate who persist in acceptance of corrupt governments, such that we ALWAYS GET OURSELVES ANOTHER ONE.
I have tried, for over a year, to get Westminster to enforce/obey ITS OWN LAWS . . .
Nuff sed.

Having 4+ million immigrants added to this already populated Island was only ever gonna be a burden.. people are living in sheds due to lack of housing, rents higher than ever for most families and singles, services crushed with demand, political correctness still running rampant, bending its back to all cultures other than our own -that historical Christian value backbone broke by the degenerate hatefilled leftists due to their constant attack whilst clasping their hands in reverence to the Islamic faith ..all this whilst simultaneously pulling out the racist card to anyone who dare question their diversity loving agenda.
I'm a Tory card carrier -that gets me into their conferences but I'm not active as I live amongst the brain dead Libs and the communists of South Manchester. From a Tory to an English nationalist has been my path in the last 10 years -and with Irish/Scottish parentage, a near miracle has been performed in my fight for English identity... Have you ever heard mortified laughter?..its very popular these days. The 成人快手 ain't picked up on it yet though as they are still busy trying to find a role and a slot for Marcus Brigstocke - that joke blower whose material consists of slagging the Daily Mail off. Note to 成人快手 news hacks. If another building collapses..can you hold back your managed news fed report until it actually collapses. Nearly 1 in 4 young children in the U.S. living below the poverty line, but aid to Israel is untouchable
The number of children living in poverty in the United States increased by 2.6 million since the recession began in 2007, bringing the total to an estimated 15.7 million poor children in 2010, according to researchers from the Carsey Institute at the University of New Hampshire. The researchers estimate that nearly 1 in 4 children under the age of 6 now live in poverty. Senior US officials clarified during a series of meetings with Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz, Washington has no intention of downsizing military aid to Israel, despite the drastic cuts in the US budget, according to a Finance Ministry statement Friday.

The yield on 10 year US treasuries has fallen to the level post WWII, when the US was then the largest creditor nation in the world, and US dollar was on the gold standard. With hindsight, it struck me that raising the debt ceiling could not have come at a better time for the US government, as it helped reinforce the market鈥檚 confidence in their ability to borrow, just before the most recent and serious wave of debt crisis hits Europe. Why launch QE3 when investors around the world are now falling over themselves to buy US treasuries at any cost?
On the contrary, a large part of Europe is now suffering from the serious consequences of quantitative easing implemented during the last global recession in 2008: severe debt crisis, credit and asset bubbles, and an oversupply of production capacity in the economy leading to bad loans on their banks鈥 balance sheets. It is too simplistic in my view to conclude that the problem is caused by living beyond one鈥檚 means. Without large increases in factory orders from abroad, hot money flowing into the Eurozone for years and large capital investments launched to stimulate growth in the economy (after sub-prime mortgage crisis broke out in the US), Greece and other peripheral countries鈥 finances wouldn鈥檛 be in this mess now.
It is always the same game played by an elitist group of financiers 鈥 creation of a bubble (by the injection of capital) and then bursting of a bubble (by the repatriation of capital). Except this time, they have the countries with large balance of trade surpluses to take the blame, even though China and Japan have really been played for suckers on this one - first shifting their investments out of US at super low exchange rates (having been scared out by all those doom and gloom research reports produced by investment banks and credit rating agencies who are surprise surprise ran by the Americans) and then into Europe just before the whole debt crisis is about to shift gear.
