Despite everything, singie, I haven't had a nightmare for a very long time. Discomfort, yes, but no nightmares. I should imagine it's due to my strength, faith in love, abundance of creativity and happiness I only really felt until the age of nine or so.

The Irish are resisting a direct sovereign bailout, but inferring that the ECB could "play a role" in supporting their banking system.

I presume this is because the scale of the problem is now well beyond the ability of the Irish Government to fund another bank bailout...

If we were to see the UK going the same way following a property crash here, who the h*ll is going to bail out our banks, because we certainly cannot afford to?

The domino effect is clearly a real risk - Eire & Portugal go down - their debt is held by banks in the UK, Germany, France etc - these banks then go down too - Spain, Italy, etc then begin to teeter as well - the whole lot then demolish each other - game over.

Paul should as George Osborne whether he still thinks "Ireland stands as a shining example of the art of the possible in long-term economic policymaking."

The Irish success story is really one of the EU's power is so effective in helping the marginal economies of Europe to develop - and how free market liberalisation and tax cuts have then been allowed to destroy everything the Irish and the EU worked so hard to build up.

We know why compensation is being paid to the boys from Guantanamo; similar situation to the Libyan Al-Megrahi; "don't let them get to court and spill the beans!"; at least it's not Russia or China, mind. Could be a lot, lot, lot worse.

Good to hear that India thinks the Burmese elections were free and fair; certainly fairer than the grinding poverty to which some castes are condemned for life, purely due to an accident of birth.

I only went to India once and didn't stay long; everyone with money trying so desperately to be cool and Americanised whilst at the same time lecturing that the caste system and the appalling street poverty were not topics to be discussed. And so chippy about the British!

Congratulations Newsnight on reporting other events that have happened in the world today other than the royal engagement. More than can be said for the rest of the TV news output Sky News included.

Amuses me how the media goes into a flunky frenzy on these occasions, interviewing everyone from the man who laid the pavement slab that Kate Middleton stepped on in 1993, to a cockroach that used to live under the floorboards at her old school.

Why the media thinks the country rises into a state of euphoria at the mention of a royal betrothal is quite beyond my comprehension. But then I'm only a prol I suppose.

Was also wondering who would be paying for this illustrious, magnificent wedding. Such thought would be sedition, no doubt. That's ok. I'm sure my family will be happy to put up with cuts, higher VAT and a reduction in lifestyle during the days ahead, as long as the royals are happy.

Having previously watched Channel4 Dispatches report on the excesses of the EU Gravy Train (at UK taxpayers鈥� expense) we need to radicalise and change our predominant characteristics of tolerance, apathy, lethargy and complacency (TALC) - all aided by 成人快手 dumbing down (pushing entertainment and celebrity instead of informing and enlightening)and the deliberate influx of grateful immigrants.

I鈥檓 happy that we had the example of students taking to the streets in protest, and do not wish to condone, condemn (or even condom) the occasional excesses of the young. And I still advocate the re-introduction of National Service to get a semblance of national pride, discipline and camaraderie back into our English society.
