What do you think of it so far?

Graham Smith | 08:46 UK time, Wednesday, 16 March 2011

This blog is now a year old - give or take a few days.

In the continuing interests of reader-engagement, feedback and quality control, I invite you to submit your opinions about any or all of the 570 entries penned so far.

This was the first blog of its kind, specific to ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ local radio. In these cost-conscious times I should point out that the burden on licence-fee payers is nothing at all, as it's written in my spare time (as a form of therapy.)

Among the stories which subsequently attracted a wider audience, there's been quite a bit of stuff about Cornwall Council, whose constitution has had to be reviewed twice because of blog entries. The blog was first to report that the general election Con-LibDem deal would mean constituency boundary reviews leading to Devonwall. The blog can also claim to have re-written the official timeline of Cornish history - who can forget the Kilbrandon Report? There have been hitherto unplumbed inquiries into who spent what during the general election campaign. My personal favourite was the one about the council visit to the lap-dancing club: Flashman & The Angels.

It's clear, though, that the blog has its critics - who are also cordially invited to say why I should spend more time on the tennis court.

Thank you for reading - and whether you like it or not, another year of blogging is about to be foisted upon you.

The ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ - being Cornish is bad!:

Copies of course sent to various organisations that promote human rights and democracy.

No problem with the blogs it’s the moderation which stifles debate and common sense, having the same three people stomp on everything degrades your efforts

I like your "space", Graham. You "stick your head above the parapet" and encourage lively debate.
I think a lot of the more Controversial Cornish, (or should it be Kontroversial Kernowists?) see the B.B.C. as an "easy target".

    Less balls?

Well Graham it seems like the local British hard and far-right like what you do. Congrats for that.

"it seems like the local British hard and far-right like what you do"?

If that is a reference to me, "TheCornishRep", I would say 'hardly'.

As a life-long socialist, Labour Party member and Trades Union rep, I am as much "hard and far right" as you are a "Republican".

It's useful to have a space to exchange views Graham, one with even handed moderation, where one is not denied the right to express a view which does not toe the board owners line.

    Thank you.

Good points and bad points Graham, I like some of your exclusives (such as the Council Star Chamber budget options, first for the risk of cross Tamar). Proper job!

However I am not sure why you have to be so hard on Cornish identity. A lot of the stuff needs frank and open debate but you seem to approach subjects like Jeremy Kyle. As in looking for controversy, looking to stir up emotions and above all quite low level debate, which like Jeremy Kyle leaves most people upset and nothing resolved.

Just my thoughts look forward to the next year and onward.
