Isles of Scilly link to be axed?
The proposed £44million new ferry link between Penzance and the Isles of Scilly is among the transport schemes which the government says might be axed. The Department for Transport tells me:
"At least until the conclusion of the spending review, the department can give no assurances on its intention to fund any schemes that were awarded conditional approval by the previous government."I hope to speak to Transport Secretary Phil Hammond later today and will seek clarification.

That vital transport link to The Isles Of Scilly will remain in one form or another whatever happens to the particular scheme to which your refer.
Here's an interesting, well informed and lively discussion on the subject:

He declines the invitation to meet representatives from the Isles of Scilly, or Cornwall councillors, until he knows how much money he's got - sometime in the autumn.
