Martin Simpson on 'wonderful musicians'
Way, way back I found myself one Sunday night in the wilds of

Well Martin SimpsonÌýis a good bit older now and in the intervening years has simply got better and better, exacting musicianship that never gets in the way of the soul of his music. Had I half his talent I would be well chuffed.

Behold the first utterances of a hitherto virgin blogger.
Pausing to examine recent and up-coming events feels luxurious; I am madly busy on all fronts, good busy. Last week I played for the first time in 11 years with Ìýand Subhashish Bhattacharya,Ìýtwo of the finest musicians I have ever heard. Debashish is a master of Indian Slide Guitar and his younger brother is a monster tabla player. It was a joy to see them again, and a complete thrill to be playing music with them. Seek out the latest CD, "Calcutta Chronicles".
Still on the subject of wonderful musicians, it was my privilege to spend much of June on the road with . We worked up a bunch of new material which will go into the pot for the next record. Playing with Andy allows me to really relax on stage, he's so musical and dependable.
I heard 'sÌýnew album for the first time today, he's such a creative producer, great player and a lovely singer. The album will of course polarize listeners, good on him.
I'll be blogging you again on Friday.
