And so Alex's deputy is back too!

Nicola Sturgeon has won Glasgow Govan - that seat of historic memories.

She took the seat from Gordon Jackson.

Brilliant news. I knew my community would make the right choice, unlike my old one in Cumbernauld!

Dont know if anyone else has noticed, but I have been watching the turnout percentage tonight. And it does seem to me that the turn out seems to be lower in the Glasgow area and in the south (40-47), and higher in the north and north east(55-60%).

Is it a case that labour voters are so sure of a labour victory in the south that they havent turned out and it has cost them?

Looks like Alec Salmond will be the only "two jobs" in the Parliament.

Mr Jackson will be back in court very soon.

Well done to Nicola Sturgeon. Has anyone heard how Roseanna Cunningham or John Swinney are doing? There has been no mention.

Surely in seats like this one, majority inside the Spoiled ballot number there will have to be another election.

This is my local area too - i didn't vote for her but she's a hard-working, dedicated, intelligent politician so I am quite glad for her.

Do you have to have a fish name to be a senior SNP figure?

I'm also in Govan. It's the first time I've had an SNP parliamenarian in the various seats I've lived in. I'll be interested to see whether impact Nicola makes an impact as a local representative, or whether the national scene will be her focus.

This count is like a third world election taking place. It is clear there is a question mark over the credibility of this election, and how does any political party expect to have the support of the people when we are having thousands of votes discounted and postal votes not received. This is an absolute shambles - we must be a laughing stock across the globe. If we can't even run our own election, how can we be expected to run our own affairs as a sovereign nation. This election should be declared nul-in-void and the Scottish people asked to return and re-cast their votes, to ensure that the credibility of this election stands. This is a dark day for Scottish Democracy.

You have to laugh at folk who equate how things are run now such as elections as to how they would be run under an independent government. We have a unionist labour establishment in charge right now. They can't run an economy, they seemingly can't organise an election. On the other hand the polling disaster could be deliberate.
