I didn't want my blog to be all about this week but, well, there hasn't been too much happening down at Annan since my last one.
I don't know about you but I hope the Ferguson and Scotland saga is over and done with now and everyone can move on.
I doubt it very much, though, as we'll have the usual pundits having their say in the build-up to the next qualifiers, and quite possibly afterwards as well, depending on results.

After Aaron Muirhead's little mishap during the speed exercise last week it was the turn of our captain, Kevin Neilson, to have what can only be described as a total disaster during Monday night's training session.
Not only was he in the firing line, baring his backside three times after our usual game of possession, but he also took one from the speed rope.
The manager changed things around to avoid a repeat of Aero's accident and put his trust in the hands of the players to help each other out.
Kevin and Jordan Halsman were working in pairs and things seemed to be fine when Kevin was powering away while Jordan held the rope. When it came to Jordan's turn, the belt somehow came away from his waist and flew back and smacked Kevin.

I had the chance of a ticket for the , so let's just say that I wasn't overly excited to be told I was heading for Maryhill and a reserve game against on Tuesday night.
It was a horrible night and I'll not pretend it was the best ground I've ever played at but it was actually a decent game and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
It has been about six weeks since I last started a match for Annan and during that time I've only managed one substitute appearance so I'll pretty much take anything I can get right now.
I've certainly missed not playing and although I've been on the bench I've started feeling less and less a part of things again. The old feelings have started coming back from the season before last when I was out the team for the majority of the season.

Well, my first memorable experience of (I used to go and watch my Dad many moons ago playing for ) didn't exactly whet my appetite.
I'll give the players the benefit of the doubt that we caught both and on an off day, but the game was a bit of a disappointment.
In fact, the game was the only disappointment of an absolutely brilliant day and night that took us from Dumfries to Glasgow to Beith and then back to Glasgow.

Much to the boys' surprise, we have been given the day off this Saturday.
Obviously with it being an international weekend there are no competitive fixtures for us but we fully expected to be in training in the morning at least.
It's my reckoning that Andy Aitken has possibly influenced the manager's decision with this one because I can't remember the last time Harry gave us the day off. I was starting to forget what a "free Saturday" felt like.
It might also have something to do with the fact that Mr Aitken has a wee trip to Blackpool organised for the weekend.
A few of the other boys have things organised as well as it's not often you get this time to get away during the season.
It was Aaron Muirhead's 20th birthday on Monday so some of the lads are heading round to his place for a barbeque. Originally I was meant to be there but I'm off up to the big smoke for a night out for one of my other mates' (Gary McMenamin) birthdays, and we've got a decent wee night planned as well.
Gary used to play for Annan and is now in the junior ranks with Cumnock so we're starting off with a trip to Beith to watch him in the afternoon.
We've booked an apartment in Glasgow so we'll have a few beers there before we're off to a bar for virtual golf and some food and Gary tells me we are on the guest list for some club so we'll see what happens there but I'm expecting things could get messy!
